Harvest Christian Fellowship Blog

From Pastor Greg’s Blog

May 23rd 2008

We have just returned from our trip overseas. I am majorly jet-lagged.

I HATE jet lag (I am typing this at 3:45 a.m. on Friday morning). But it’s good to be home again!

One of the things I miss most when I’m away from America is Mexican food! So that will be on my list of things to do today.

From Pastor Greg’s blog

April 28th 2008

Last night, I told my life story at our Day 7 service at Harvest Christian Fellowship. To see that, click here.

It’s a story that will hopefully bring hope to those who feel the deck is stacked against them. I talked about how my mom was married and divorced seven times, and I, conceived in between marriages, was illegitimate. I did not find this out until much later in life.

It’s rather disconcerting to find out that you are illegitimate. You find yourself asking, “Was I ever meant to be? Was my life an accident?” I became an angry young man.

April 22nd 2008

Some of you have asked me about the release date of my autobiography, Lost Boy. It will come out on June 15, 2008.

We are also releasing a documentary by the same title. It has been in production for more than two years and is near completion. It is being directed by a very talented filmmaker and personal friend of mine, Dwight Thompson Jr.

Dwight, along with his wife Gina, attend Harvest, and Dwight has poured himself into this project. We are preparing a trailer that I will show you as soon as it is available.

From Pastor Greg’s blog

April 17th 2008

Hey everyone,

I’m back in California. I had a great time at the Billy Graham board meeting. Billy spoke to all of us at dinner, and it was very touching.

I had some time to talk with him and I showed him a photo of my granddaughter Stella! What can I do, I am a hopeless grandfather!

I told Billy that Stella was named after my grandmother, who I lived with for many years. We called her “Mama Stella!” She was a wonderful lady and she, along with my grandfather “Daddy Charles,” took me to church every Sunday.

Greg Visits BGEA Home Office

April 15th 2008

Good morning!

I am off to Charlotte, North Carolina. I have the privilege of being on the board of directors of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, so we are having a meeting there at the home office.

I will also be speaking to the BGEA staff for devotions Wednesday morning and then I am going to sign copies of one of my books later that day at the Billy Graham Library.

BTW, if you have not seen this library, you really ought to. It is a beautifully done multimedia presentation of Billy’s life and ministry. Every person who goes through the library hears the gospel.

New Series Starts Sunday!

April 5th 2008

Hey guys,

Grandpa Greg here! Or as my granddaughter Stella calls me, “Bapa.”

She can’t pronounce “grandpa” yet, so “Bapa” it is.

This weekend, I will be starting a brand new series based on the book of Acts. We call this amazing book, “The Acts of the Apostles,” but it really is the a record of the “Acts of the Holy Spirit” as done through ordinary men and women who changed their world. I am calling this series, The Upside-Down Life.

From Pastor Greg’s Blog

March 28th 2008

Hey Everyone,

Guess where I am?
New York City!

Without question, NYC is my all-time favorite city. It’s noisy, crazy, congested, and full of action.

I am here through this weekend to speak at a Harvest Christian Fellowship we planted here, way back in 1982. Back then, we were doing some events here due to the amazing response to our radio program, A New Beginning. Yes, we have been on that long . . . actually even longer! Those events ultimately resulted in a church plant with a great guy and good friend named Mike Finizio leading it. Mike was raised in Hoboken, New Jersey, and knows the city like the back of his hand.
